Cooking with Wine
Blueberry Cream Slush
What happens when you blend white wine, blueberries and vanilla ice cream? It's glorious and a great way to use any leftover wine from last nights gathering. This time I decided to add a twist with a bit of vanilla ice cream and a good white wine. And happily all the flavors came through - the blueberries, the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream and the flavor of the sauvignon blanc I chose. Personalize by changing to your favorite wine and your favorite fruit. Imagine the possibilities : strawberries and moscato, peaches and chardonnay, pomegranate and pinot grigio. You are only limited by your imagination. Ingredients: 1/2 cup frozen or fresh blueberries 1/2 cup white wine 1/4 cup vanilla ice cream 1/2 ounce simple syrup (optional) 4 ice cubes Directions: In a blender, combine blueberries, wine, ice cream, and ice cubes until smooth.
